The nominations for the Grammys 2019 are out. The artiste with most number of nominations is Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick has been nominated in eight different categories. Following Kendrick are other rap artistes which makes rap the most nominated music genre in the Grammys. The awards ceremony will be telecast live on February 10, 2019.
Following Kendrick are – Drake with 7 nominations, Boi-1da (6), Carlile (6), Cardi B (5) and Childish Gambino (5). Kendrick Lamar’s All the stars is competing for 'Song of the year' and 'Record of the year' against Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s I Like It, Carlile’s The Joke, Drake’s God’s Plan, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Shallow, Post Malone’s Rockstar and Zedd and Maren Morris’ The Middle.
But what has changed this year for the Grammys are the number of artistes nominated for a single category. The number has been raised to eight. This can act as a benefit to the artistes who have been nominated in multiple categories. But, that also means the chances for other artistes to win are more. With eight talents battling it out for the top spot, we aren’t sure if Drake or Kendrick might take more than expected awards home.
